Included in our 11th June auction we have for sale a mid-20th Century G Plan Fresco teak extending dining table designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins, together with a set of four G Plan chairs and sideboard Est £300-500.
Competing with the Scandinavian firms and designers in the Post War era, Wilkins, an inhouse designer for G Plan, designed their range “Fresco” furniture in 1966. With items for nearly every room in the house, it went on to be their most successful ever and is still proving popular today with Scandinavian and Post War British design enjoying a revival and continuing to fit in well with today’s homes and lifestyles.

We have another classic Post War design piece in the form of a twin section of Ladderax shelving. A little earlier than the G Plan “Fresco” range and created for Staples in 1964, this modular shelving and storage system by Robert Heal included desk, bookcase, cocktail cabinet sections etc. This useful sized piece is in at £50-80
The penchant for British design has continued into the 21st Century and proving this is the Designer Maker Timothy Hawkins from Hereford. We are lucky enough to be able to offer a small a collection of furniture by Hawkins, all beautifully hand made in oak and bearing his acorn trademark.  These really are statement pieces, with auction estimates ranging from £100-150 to £300-500.

It’s not just furniture that is of interest in our June sale, we have a great advertising milk churn by Gillings of London. The brass and copper bound piece is inscribed "The Royal Oak, New Milk" and bears a Royal Coat of Arms. Standing at 45.5cm tall, it would most likely have been placed on the top of a display counter, heavily polished to promote their wares….no social media back then! Est £500-800
An early Belleek "Lily of the Valley" mirror / picture frame was heading for the skip when the vendor thought they would check out the mark on the back. It turned out to be the first period Belleek mark dating from 1863-1891, a few photos were emailed over to us and we were able to confirm that it was worth saving and should carry an estimate £80-120.

If you have anything you are thinking of selling or want to check out before you throw it away, we are always happy to take a look. We can provide valuations in person either where they are or here at the saleroom, alternatively via email or WhatsApp.
We are accepting items for this sale (11th June) and for our next auction on 2nd July .
